Impossible Animals Animals List: Confirmed Base Animals
A verified directory of base animals in Impossible Animals on Roblox: every fusion input and rescue or unlock animal the recorded evidence confirms, with the route each was observed through and the checks that separate base animals from fused hybrids.
Impossible Animals has no complete animal roster published anywhere in its records, but it does have something more useful: every fusion you or anyone else performs names its two inputs. This page catalogs the animals that name-check confirms as base animals — the unfused entries you pick in the fusion screen, win as Wild rescues, or unlock in world areas. It is built from a recorded fusion-combinations table (72 results, checked October 9, 2026, on the October 3, 2026 update) and three gameplay recordings, including two fresh-account runs.
What counts as a base animal
The game's own How to Play draws the line: you "fuse animals to create incredible hybrids," battle through The Wild to "rescue new animals to fuse," and hatch eggs to "discover rare hybrids." So base animals are what rescues deliver and what fusions consume — and eggs are not a base-animal source, because they arrive already fused.
Three facts define the category:
- Picker membership is the test, not biology. The Tank, Cowboy, Skeleton, Car and even a Cheeseburger are all confirmed fusion parents despite not being animals. As one fusion guide puts it: "Check the pair, not the animal."
- Plain names go in, coined names come out. Parents keep their ordinary names (cheetah, fox); the hybrid gets a portmanteau (Chefox, Warth-Rex, Rhinoturtle).
- Padlocked picker entries are base animals you don't own yet. A fresh account's screen says "Choose a father" with several locked entries — locked is just unowned.
Confirmed base animals
Each row below is confirmed by name in at least one of three ways: recorded (it appears in a Parents column of the recorded-results table), on camera (a player selects or fuses it in a video), or rescue (it is offered as a Wild stage reward or sits in a side unlock area). Stars and $/s figures belong to the hybrid outputs shown.

| Turtle | Fusion parent (rescue, unlock area) | Taken as a stage reward and unlocked in a world area; turtle + giraffe and Rhinoturtle on camera |
| Venus Fly Trap | Fusion parent (recorded, on camera) | Warthog + Venus Fly Trap → Venusflyrthog (3 stars, $2/s); also fused with T-Rex |
| Warthog | Fusion parent (recorded, on camera) | Venusflyrthog; warthog + T-Rex → Warth-Rex (8 stars) |
| Wasp | Fusion parent (recorded) | Appears in five of the ten best recorded results |
| Crocodile | Rescue offer | Offered as a Wild stage reward at two different levels on camera; declined both times |
| Worm | Rescue offer | Offered as a Wild stage reward; declined ("No worms, guys") |
| Dinosaur | Rescue offer, locked picker entry | Named in the picker before ownership and offered as a late-stage reward; never taken |
| Strawberry | Locked picker entry | Named as choosable but "right now, I don't have those yet" |
| Tiger | Locked picker entry | Named as a mixing partner for the strawberry; not owned on camera |
| Wolf | Egg-revealed component | A common egg hatched a pre-fused monkey + wolf ("it fuses them for us") |
| Triceratops | Egg-revealed component | An 8-star egg hatched tricertank — "a tank plus a triceratops" |
This table lists what these sources verify, nothing more. The full roster and a total count of base animals are not documented anywhere in the evidence, and 72 recorded results means recorded, not complete — recheck if a new animal type or rescue source appears.
Where each entry was observed
- Starting picker. Fresh accounts open with a small set of unlocked animals and padlocks on the rest. On-camera first picks include cheetah, fox, Red Panda, Giraffe, Warthog and Venus Fly Trap; the giraffe/Red Panda pair is flagged as a strong opener because both sit in the starter picker.
- The Wild. Beating a stage yields one reward and the screen offers three options; one player sums it up as "the rewards get better as the stages get harder." Offers seen include an egg, owl, turtle, cowboy (stage 3), orangutan (stage 4), skeleton, worm, crocodile and dinosaur, and defeating a tank enemy awarded the tank itself. Which animal a stage offers shifts with stage and level — one run at level 500 was offered turtle, crocodile, orangutan and dinosaur — so treat any offer list as a snapshot. The Wild guide covers the stages in depth.
- Side unlock areas. One world area lets you "unlock other animals" directly: a turtle and a skeleton were unlocked there on camera, with a rhinoceros waiting alongside.
- Eggs. Eggs hatch star-rated hybrids, not selectable base animals — a Common Egg showed "3–5 ★ when hatched" and an Epic Egg "9–11 ★". They still reveal components by name, which is how Wolf and Triceratops made this page.
Base animal or hybrid? Six checks
- Check which screen you're on. The fusion screen is the input side ("Pick a mom" / "Choose a father"); unowned entries show a padlock. The result screen is the output side, showing the hybrid's name, both parents, a star count and $/s income.
- Check the name shape. Plain real-world names are inputs; coined portmanteaus are outputs. Chefox, Warth-Rex, Rhinoturtle and skeletmonkey are results, never parents.
- Check the table role. Recorded combinations keep "both parents, the hybrid name, stars and $/s income" in separate fields — anything in a Parents column is an input, and only the coined output row carries stats.
- Don't test by taxonomy. Tank, Cowboy, Skeleton and Car are recorded parents despite being objects or characters. Selectability, not species, is what makes a base animal.
- Remember eggs pre-fuse. An egg's contents arrive as a finished hybrid ("it fuses them for us"), so an egg result is never a new base animal — though its component name can reveal one, as tricertank did for Triceratops.
- Treat shiny tiers and re-fusions as versions, not species. Golden, Diamond and Iridescent Shiny are rare rolls of the same hybrid — standard Dragowl is 6 stars and $16/s, the Golden one 8 stars and $73/s — and Double Fusions re-fuse hybrids that the record still labels "hybrid." One streamer speculated mid-run that results are random; the recorded pairs say otherwise: the same pair gives the same hybrid (Ant + Owl produced the identical 9-star, $133/s Antowl for two players in opposite orders, and Tank + Skeleton and Tank + Cowboy matched across players too). Only the Shiny roll is random.
Names that don't make the list yet
A few sightings fail the confirmation test and are deliberately excluded:
- Raccoon — one passing remark ("there was a Turtle back there with the Raccoon"), never selected or fused.
- "Steve" — a player spots something and hopes it is Minecraft Steve ("We don't have Minecraft Steve yet"); no selection follows.
- Excavator — announced as an enemy being fought, then immediately second-guessed ("Wait, isn't that a tank?").
- Alligator — half of an uncertain call in an unlock area ("a dolphin or an alligator"); only the dolphin half was later confirmed by a fusion.
- Shark — corrected mid-sentence to dolphin before the fusion happened.
How locked picker entries such as Strawberry, Tiger, Car or Dinosaur become unlocked is not shown in any source — the car stays padlocked on camera — so treat them as confirmed names without a known acquisition route.
Put the list to work
Every animal above is a proven fusion input, so the fastest use is pairing it: the fusion guide explains the mechanics, and the fusion combinations page lists the recorded pair results from Stegosawasp on down. To grow the roster itself, rescue more animals in The Wild — the rescue guide walks that loop. Whatever you produce from these inputs is a hybrid, and the hybrids list catalogs those outputs separately.
