Impossible Animals Fusion Guide
Pick two unlocked animals, get your hybrid instantly, and save it to your pen to earn money. The verified Impossible Animals fusion walkthrough.
Fusion in Impossible Animals needs exactly two unlocked animals and nothing else — no cost, level or quest requirement appears before your first one. The picker prompts you to Pick a mom and Choose a father; the moment you pick the second parent, the fusion completes and the result screen shows your hybrid's name, both parents, its star count and its income in $/s. Press Save Hybrid and the hybrid moves to your pen, where it starts earning money.
What fusion does in Impossible Animals
Fusion is the core of the game: you pick two animals, the game merges them into a named hybrid, and that hybrid earns in-game money while it sits in your pen. The game's own How to Play list opens with "Fuse animals to create incredible hybrids", followed by "Fill your pen with hybrids that earn money", and third-party onboarding guides likewise list "Fuse animals together to create your first hybrid creatures" as step 1 for new players. Nothing earlier in the game gates the first fusion.
What you need before you fuse
The only prerequisite is two unlocked animals. In the picker, animals you do not own yet show a padlock and cannot be picked — one recorded player tried to choose a car as the mother, found "The car's a no-go, it's locked", and took the crab instead.
In the recorded sessions the fusion picker is on screen from the start, and one fresh account opened it with only a partial roster available ("I only have these ones, all in blue"). Exactly which animals a brand-new account starts with varies, so work from the unlocked list in front of you.
Your first fusion, step by step
- Pick the first parent. The screen prompts you for two parents — the recorded prompts read "Pick a mom" and "Choose a father". Pick any animal without a padlock. In one fresh-session recording the screen says "Choose a father" and the player takes the cheetah.
- Pick the second parent. The second slot "can be any other animal here" — that player picked the fox. The result appears the instant you make this second pick, so the fusion is already complete; there is no extra confirm step. Pick order has not changed a recorded result.
- Read the result screen. It shows the hybrid's name, both parents, a star count and its income in $/s. That first recorded run made Chefox (cheetah + fox, 6 stars); another player's skeleton + crab produced a 4-star skeleton crab. A label such as "Golden Shiny" above the stars means the pair rolled a rare version.
- Save it or try again. Three buttons follow: Save Hybrid sends the hybrid to your pen, where it starts earning; New Fusion returns you to the picker; Explore World closes the fusion screen.
On a brand-new account the very first result also pops the "The First Hybrid" badge — recorded on Red Panda + Giraffe, which made Redpaffe at 6 stars and $15/s.
What a fusion takes and what you get
A standard fusion takes two animals and makes one: "Two parents. One new hybrid." No source documents a cost for a standard fusion or states whether the two chosen parents are used up, so treat both as unknowns rather than planning around them.
The output is a named hybrid whose result screen lists both parents, a star count and income in $/s. Recorded examples from narrated gameplay:
- Cheetah + fox → Chefox — 6 stars
- Skeleton + crab → skeleton crab — 4 stars
- Warthog + T-Rex → Warth-Rex — 8 stars
- Turtle + rhino → Rhinoturtle — 5 stars
- Red Panda + Giraffe → Redpaffe — 6 stars, $15/s
- Warthog + Venus Fly Trap → Venusflyrthog — 3 stars, $2/s
Once you have two saved hybrids, Double Fusion merges them into a stronger one — it cost 1 Fusion Token in the recording checked. The recorded Double Fusion rolled Iridescent Shiny, listed the four original parents and showed 12 stars at $1.54K/s. That is the best result on record, not a proven ceiling: the best standard result is Stegosawasp (Stegosaurus + Wasp) at 10 stars and $410/s, and the game's Roblox thumbnail reportedly shows a 35-star hybrid. The full Double Fusion process is covered in Impossible Animals: how to fuse hybrids.
The rules behind your results
- The same pair makes the same hybrid. Fusion is not a slot machine: Ant + Owl made an identical 9-star, $133/s Antowl for two different players who picked the parents in opposite orders, and Tank + Skeleton, Tank + Cowboy and Cowboy + Spider also matched across players. What somebody else got from a pair is what you should expect too.
- Pick order does not matter. In every compared pair, picking the parents the other way round produced the same hybrid.
- The only randomness is the Shiny roll. Occasionally a pair produces a Golden, Diamond or Iridescent Shiny version of its hybrid, with more stars and higher income. Owl + Dragonfly shows both sides: the standard Dragowl is 6 stars at $16/s, while one Golden Shiny roll hit 8 stars at $73/s — and when the same video fused the owl and dragonfly again, it got the standard $16 result. The odds are unknown, so treat a Shiny as a bonus and plan around the standard numbers.
- Stars drive income; levels are separate. Across recorded standard results, $/s climbs with the star count:
| Stars | Recorded $/s |
|---|---|
| 3 | $1–2/s |
| 4 | $3–5/s |
| 5 | $7–9/s |
| 6 | $10–18/s |
| 7 | $27–42/s |
| 8 | $75–82/s |
| 9 | $106–133/s |
| 10 | $293–410/s |
Training does not move these numbers: one recorded hybrid went from Lv. 1 to Lv. 506 on the treadmill and its card still showed 10 stars and $429/s, so treadmill levels are a separate system from the stars that set listed income.
When a fusion does not go as expected
- An animal can't be picked. It has a padlock because you do not own it yet — the pick is simply blocked, as with the locked car. Fuse from what is unlocked; the game's How to Play points to battling through The Wild and rescuing new animals as the way to add more fusion material.
- Your result looks weak. That is the pair, not a mistake: one new account's Warthog + Venus Fly Trap made a 3-star, $2/s Venusflyrthog immediately after Red Panda + Giraffe made a 6-star, $15/s Redpaffe. If Red Panda and Giraffe are both in your starting picker, that pair is a much better opening than a random one — a recorded example, not a ranking of all pairs.
- Refusing the same pair gives a different number. Check the result screen for a Shiny label. A Golden, Diamond or Iridescent roll changes the stars and income; the standard result itself stays the same.
Run the sequence once — pick two unlocked animals, read the result screen, Save Hybrid — and you have completed the mechanic the whole game builds on. From there, the Impossible Animals fusion combinations reference lists what specific pairs have produced on record, and Impossible Animals best fusions collects the strongest recorded results if you want to aim higher than a random pairing.
