How to Fuse Hybrids in Impossible Animals
A finished hybrid can be fused again in Impossible Animals. Save a hybrid, then run a Double Fusion on two saved hybrids for one stronger result.
A hybrid you have already made can go straight back into fusion. The game's official How to Play list ends by telling players to "fuse your hybrids together for even crazier combinations", and the move has a name: Double Fusion, which "merges two saved hybrids into a stronger one". Below is the full re-fusion flow — how a finished hybrid stays eligible, what to select, what the run costs, and what comes out the other side.
How to fuse an existing hybrid again
You need at least two saved hybrids in your pen, each made through an ordinary animal-to-animal fusion. Then:
- Finish an ordinary fusion and choose Save Hybrid. The result screen offers three choices: "Save Hybrid" sends the hybrid to your pen, where it starts earning; "New Fusion" goes back to the picker; "Explore World" closes the fusion screen. Saving is what keeps a finished hybrid as a usable creature — it sits in the pen, earns money, and remains available as a future input.
- Return to the fusion picker. "New Fusion" takes you straight back after a result, and the written fusion guide's next numbered step after those buttons is exactly that: "Fuse your hybrids together".
- Select two saved hybrids as the inputs. That is what makes the run a Double Fusion. In one recorded session, the player spotted the option — "we can fuse them again, like taking creatures that have already been fused and fusing them more" — and picked his golden insect-eating T-Rex hybrid (Venus flytrap + T-Rex, 9 stars) plus his Venus-flytrap dolphin hybrid (dolphin + Venus flytrap, 5 stars): "that's four species already. Four species combined into this one."
- Recognize the success state. You get one new hybrid whose result screen shows the new star rating and income and lists all four original parents. That session produced a 10-star hybrid — "This one is 10 stars!" — strong enough to clear the first battle stage of The Wild immediately.
In the recordings checked, a Double Fusion cost 1 Fusion Token. Both guides tie that figure to the specific clips they watched ("in the recording we checked", "in the clip"), so treat 1 token as an observed price rather than a guaranteed rate for every run.
How Double Fusion differs from an ordinary fusion
- Inputs. A normal fusion combines raw animals; a Double Fusion's inputs must already be fusion results. Every recorded case pairs one saved hybrid with another saved hybrid — a hybrid fused with a raw animal has not been recorded.
- Lineage. The result screen lists the four original parents of the two hybrids, so you can see the whole chain, not just two names.
- Input strength. The recorded re-fusions used hybrids from 5 stars upward; the sources don't show whether weaker hybrids also qualify.
- The parents. The recordings don't show whether the two parent hybrids stay in your pen after merging. Since saved hybrids are your money earners, keep that unknown in mind before you merge your best earners.
Recorded Double Fusion results
Double Fusions sit at the very top of community fusion records. Among 72 recorded results checked on 2026-10-09 (ordered highest income first), the two hybrid-parent entries lead the list:
| Hybrid | Parents | Stars | Income | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stegosebungray (Iridescent) | Cheeseburger + Stingray hybrid + Stegosaurus + Wasp hybrid | 12★ | $1.54K/s | Iridescent Shiny |
| Venusflylytrex (Golden) | Venusflylphin + Venusflytrex (Golden) | 10★ | $429/s | Golden Shiny |
The Venusflylytrex row matches the session described above: a Venus-flytrap dolphin (Venusflylphin) fused with the golden Venus-flytrap T-Rex (Venusflytrex). Treat these as top recorded figures, not promises — where a pair only has a Shiny result recorded, "expect less than the Shiny number when you fuse it yourself", and outcomes vary from run to run just like ordinary fusions.
Before spending a token, compare pairings and outcomes in the verified records on the Impossible Animals fusion combinations page. If you haven't made your first hybrid yet, the Impossible Animals fusion guide covers ordinary animal-to-animal fusion.
